Files to bigVAULT |
bigVAULT upload allow
unlimited folders and files, limited only by your Vault quota.
Client Requirements
- bigVAULT Upload runs on Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 and above,
and Netscape 4.7x on a Windows, Unix or
Linux system. In Internet Explorer 6 the Java Virtual Machine which is
necessary to run Upload is not present by default, but can be downloaded using
Microsoft Windows Update)..
- Upload will run with certain limitations in IE5.0 or higher
on a Macintosh, and on Netscape 6.x on Windows/Unix/Linux .

Netscape 6, can handle up to 50MB transfers efficiently. If you anticipate tranfers larger
than 50MB, you may want to use Internet Explorer instead, these uploads under Netscape will not
be encrypted. Signed applets are not supported by any current version of Netscape Navigator for
Macintosh.
- Within Netscape Navigator, when the applet is first invoked, Upload will
display a security warning. This is by design. The applet is signed with a
certificate to allow it to read from the user's local file system. When
the user is prompted to grant rights for this applet the user should check the
"Remember" box to enable it and then click on the grant rights button. This
warning will not be displayed again because the user has now trusted the applet.
- Within Microsoft Internet Explorer, the user will see the same security
warning as an ActiveX control or other Authenticode-signed applet.
- bigVAULT Upload will work on all Microsoft and UNIX platforms that
support Java V1.1 or later.
Note: The first time you Upload files or folders you will be prompted to accept
the bigVAULT Upload Applet. Answer Yes and check the trust box. If you do not accept
the applet you will not be able to upload folders and/or files to
your vault. If you do not check off the Trust box, you will be prompted to
download the applet every time you try to Upload folders and/or
files.
After you click the Upload button, the
“Upload” screen appears. Click on the “Browse” button. The “Selection”
pop-up window will appear. Browse your computer and select the folders and/or
files from your computer that you wish to store in your Vault. After you have
completed your selection click the “Done” button in the pop-up window. The
files you have selected will appear in the "Files to Upload” box. Repeat the
process until you have selected all the folders and/or files you wish to upload.
If you wish to remove one or more files from the ‘Files to Upload” box,
highlight the unwanted file(s) and click the “Remove” button.
When you have completed your selection and are ready to upload all the Files
that appear in the “Files to Upload” box, click the “Upload” button, or
click “Cancel” to return to your Vault.
Upload tips: If you are using the Windows Operating system:
To select the various folders and/or files in the Browse window, hold down the
“Ctrl” key on your keyboard and select the individual folders or files to
upload. Release the “Ctrl” key when you have completed your selection.
NOTE: The folders and files will be uploaded into the Vault or subvault from
within which you clicked on the upload icon. Folders and sub-folders will Upload
with the same names and in the same hierarchy as they exist on their root
location. If you upload files to the wrong location use the Move function to
place the files in the proper location.
NOTE: Saving a file to your Vault copies the file to a bigVAULT data
center---you still have the original file on its original location..
