What are the minimum requirements for installing bvPLUS⁺?  -Top-

The recommended minimum system configuration for bvPLUS⁺ is a computer running:

• Windows 98 or higher
• 32 MB RAM
• 50 MB of available hard disk space
• High speed Internet connection.

What operating systems are supported?  -Top-

Currently bvPLUS⁺ is available for Microsoft Windows only.

Can I backup data from multiple computers at my site?  -Top-

Yes, we allow you to backup any number of computers to your account.

You only pay for the storage space that you use.

You must purchase an additional license for each computer (including network shares) that you wish to backup.

If you format, or purchase a new computer, you must name or rename the new computer with the same name as the previous one, or you will get a licensing violation and will be unable to perform backups, unless you purchase an additional license.

If you have any problems backing up multiple computers to your VAULT, simply e-mail support@bigvault.com for technical support.

Do I have to reconfigure my firewall to use bvPLUS⁺?  -Top-

Generally, no configuration changes are required to the firewall to use bvPLUS⁺.

If you are unable to establish a connection to the servers, please insure that TCP port 308 is opened for bidirectional communication.

How much does bvPLUS⁺ cost?  -Top-

How is my data stored at the bigVAULT data center?  -Top-

Before any data is transferred from your systems to the bigVAULT Data Center, your data is encrypted and compressed.

Your data resides on an industry-leading Storage Area Network that is based on the rapid retrieval capabilities of high-speed disk pools.

bigVAULT utilizes best of breed storage technologies that are based on SCSI and Fibre Channel disk subsystems. This allows for the rapid recovery of Client data on an as needed basis.

How long will my backups remain in my VAULT?  -Top-

Your backups will remain in your VAULT for the duration of your subscription.

How do I restore my data?  -Top-

To restore your data, execute bvPLUS⁺ and click on the ‘Restore’ tab. Select the file(s) or folder(s) you would like to restore by clicking the checkbox next to each item.
